AI in Occupational Safety: Risk Assessments and Safety Briefings

Risk assessments, operating instructions and safety briefings involve a lot of writing. AI tools can produce drafts, prepare checklists and make texts easier to understand. You will learn where this helps, where the limits lie and how to check every result from a professional point of view.

Who the course is for

For occupational safety specialists, safety officers, managers with occupational safety responsibilities and employees who prepare safety briefings and documentation in their company. We assume a basic knowledge of occupational safety, but no prior experience with AI.

What you will learn

How language models work and why they make mistakes. How to write good prompts and check results against the regulations and actual practice in your company.

Hands-on practice with typical tasks: drafts of risk assessments, operating instructions and safety briefings, inspection reports from notes and photos, safety briefings in plain language or for employees whose first language is not German.

Framework and limits: data protection for accident reports and health data, what the AI Act means for your company and how to set rules for its use in the workplace.

Good to know

Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Arbeitsschutzgesetz), responsibility for the risk assessment remains with the employer. AI tools provide drafts, not verified results.

The course is an additional qualification. It does not replace training as an occupational safety specialist and is not a recognised further training course of an accident insurance institution.
