Who the course is for
For people who want to move into rental or WEG property management, even without previous experience in the property sector. Also for staff at property management firms who already work there and would like to consolidate their knowledge or prepare for certification.
What you will learn
The profession and management models: tasks in rental management, WEG management and management of individually owned units, the management contract and professional regulations.
Law: the Condominium Act (Wohnungseigentumsgesetz), tenancy law under the BGB, land register law, contract law and data protection, the basics of civil procedure and enforcement.
Commercial matters: annual statement and budget under § 28 WEG, service charge and heating cost statements, maintenance reserve and liquidity planning, bookkeeping, payments and dunning.
Technology and buildings: reading plans and building specifications, insurance and claims handling, the Building Energy Act (Gebäudeenergiegesetz), energy performance certificates and the allocation of CO2 costs.
Organisation: planning and chairing owners' meetings, including online, minutes and resolutions, conflict and complaint management.
Digital management: property management software, digital filing, portals for owners and tenants and the use of AI in day-to-day management.
How the course works
The theory is taught live online in a virtual classroom. In the practical sessions you work on real property management cases, prepare a sample statement and role-play an owners' meeting. At the end, a tutorial prepares you specifically for the examination.
Exam and certificate
The content is based on the examination to become a certified administrator under § 26a WEG. You take this examination at a Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Industrie- und Handelskammer). We give you a certificate confirming the content and scope of the training.

Do I need previous knowledge of the property sector?
No. The course starts with the profession and the fundamentals. If you already work in property management, you can put a lot of it into practice straight away.
What is a certified administrator?
Since December 2023, flat owners have been able to require their administrator to have passed an examination at an IHK (§ 26a WEG). The course prepares you for this examination.
